Because you (doing the work) have to speak for yourself. But I can help you hear what you’ve already got.
That isn’t a trick opening. I mean it. I can listen, notice, ask questions, and tell you what seems alive. I can’t speak for you or hand you an identity from the outside.
Most people I work with already know more than they can currently say. The patterns are there. Certain ideas keep returning. A future version of the project keeps leaving clues.
Hear it before you refine it.
Before we improve the language, we have to notice what belongs. What feels true? What sounds generic? What are you circling without quite naming?
The work isn’t to invent a better self. It’s to hear what is already present, then give it clearer language and form.
